Description
DC restaurateur Mark Bucher has acted fast to help those in need during a a shortage of baby formula, sourcing 100,000 bottles of ready-to-drink formula and placing them in community fridges in and around Washington, DC through his hunger-fighting campaign, 'Feed the Fridge.' His team buys up formula from areas with a high population of senior citizens, and also buys product that is not eligible on food stamp programs, redistributing it for free. "These ready-to-drink bottles are not hard to get, they're just very expensive," he explains next to one of his fridge's at Glassmanor Community Center in Maryland. The fridges are also stocked with freshly-cooked meals, free for anyone in need to grab and go. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
