15-year-old Ricardo Montes de Oca has one of the best scores in pole vaulting in the world this year among under-18 athletes, and is one of Venezuela's most promising youngsters ahead of the next Olympics. Despite the economic crisis, the country booked big success in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with Yulimar Rojas, the triple jump Olympic champion and world record holder, at the forefront.
