Description
Despite the sand and dust storms, deliveryman Milad Matta Abdel Ahad cannot afford to miss a day of work. Like the vast majority of Iraqis, he is weary of a phenomenon that has taken on unprecedented proportions in recent months. With a dozen storms since mid-April, Iraqis have become accustomed to waking up to a greyish sky heavy with dust -- if not an orange halo enveloping the country's cities. "You put on a mask, it gets in the way, you suffocate, you want to take it off. You take it off and it's dust," says electrician Razzak Jassem, during a break outside a shop where he is installing lights. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
