Description
Residents of Kramatorsk, a city in Ukraine's Donetsk region, clear the rubble and take stock of the damage caused by Russian shelling. Ukraine estimates there are still hundreds of thousands of civilians left in the eastern territories not yet occupied by Russia, and among them are large numbers of the elderly, unable to travel. Deadly strikes have repeatedly hit Kramatorsk since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began. "I fell asleep at about half past eleven at night. And somewhere in the hour there was a bang and everything exploded" says Volodymyr, standing amid the wreckage of his home. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
