Description
Danes "have been looking forward to celebrate her for so long" but following the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, Denmark's Queen Margrethe II scaled down the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of her accession.
Ahead of a mass at Copenhagen Cathedral, some gathered to catch sight of Margrethe, who is now Europe's longest-serving monarch, and also Europe's only reigning queen.
"It's nice to know that we in Denmark are a bit special now because we still have our Queen to guide us", noted a 19-year old Dane. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
