Description
Suriname's President Chan Santokhi asks the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for more 'flexibility' in the timetable of reforms committed to the organisation. Suriname expects new revenues from 2025 onwards following the discovery of large oil fields off the three Guianas, but "the income of the oil and gas are not included in the timeline" remarks president Santokhi, who wants to take the discussion to Washington in his next meeting with IMF director (Kristalina Georgieva).
