French startup showcases small device Emobot, which looks like a cross between a speaker and a piece of abstract art. Like hundreds of other exhibitors at CES, the world's biggest tech expo, Emobot is selling the merits of an object that depends on the latest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence. Emobot cofounder Samuel Lerman says the device allows for the continuous monitoring of a person's emotional state and can help "potentially detect early signs of depression, anxiety, apathy."
