Description
Near the Donetsk front line, a Ukrainian tank unit fires towards Russian positions near Kreminna, using Soviet-era T-64 tanks. Company Commander Maksym and Captain Volodymyr Tchaikovsky are desperate for more up-to-date equipment, describing the advantages of the GPS system used in "modern NATO tanks." Captain Tchaikovsky says "if the crews received better equipment, they would perform better." Spare parts are rare and the winter has been hard on their old tanks, leaving them in bad shape. They often need 15-20 minutes of heating time for the engine to easily start. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
