Short profile of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ahead of the 10th anniversary of the death of his predecessor Hugo Chavez. Once a bus driver and union representative, he rose through the political ranks while his mentor Hugo Chavez was in power. After Chavez died on 5 March 2013, Maduro took office. Under Maduro, Venezuela has been plagued by economic, political, social and diplomatic crises.
