Description
Hundreds of Nicaraguan Catholics join a procession inside a cathedral in Managua to watch as the image of the "Sangre de Cristo," one of the most venerated in the country, is being carried by faithfuls. The ceremony concludes the Holy Week processions, which all had to be held on church grounds amid a government ban on public demonstrations.
Relations between Managua and the Holy See are on the brink of collapse since a Nicaraguan bishop was sentenced to 26 years in prison and Pope Francis called the government of President Daniel Ortega a dictatorship. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
