Description
Massachusetts farmer John Lovett harvests his sugar kelp lines with a system that he claims uses less vertical lines and rope then other conventional kelp farms, in an effort to save endangered whales from getting entangled in his lines, should they come into the harbor. Sugar kelp itself is "good for you to eat, it's also healthy for the environment. It sequesters nitrogen and carbon from carbon dioxide from the ocean," he tells AFP. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
