On the last day of Trans Pride Week in Istanbul, trans individuals who wanted to hold a pride march are detained by the police. The march has been "banned" as the police close off dozens of streets in the city center. Despite the blockade, trans people, tens of whom managed to gather, march for a short while, chanting their main pride motto this year, "We are trans, we are here” until the march is dispersed by the police and nearly ten trans activists are detained. Trans activists are seen being handcuffed behind their backs and held by their necks by police officers, forcing them to wait with their heads bowed, AFP films. IMAGES
