The French Minister for Ecological Transition, Christophe Béchu, is visiting the forecasters at Météo-France, as the scorching heatwave sweeping across the western Mediterranean basin this week is set to push temperatures up to 40°C in places in southeast France. The Minister has indicated that he will be calling a meeting of the prefects of the 22 regions affected by the yellow or orange heatwave warnings to review the application of the heatwave risk prevention plan presented at the beginning of June.
