Description
People in Madrid emphasise the importance of voting on the eve of a general election in Spain that could see the return of the right. The vote's mid-summer scheduling has meant that 2.47 million citizens had to cast their ballots by post, something described by Coque Munoz as an "aberration". "We have already voted by post because we are not where we usually live" says Matilde Arroyo, a teacher visiting the Spanish capital, "we consider it a responsibility and a duty". Electoral pundits and polls are almost unanimous in predicting victory for Alberto Nunez Feijoo's right-wing Popular Party. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
