Description
Residents from eight nursing homes in France watch the final stage of the Tour de France from a VIP stand on the Champs Elysees thanks to an initiative between the AG2R-La Mondiale cycling team and the organisation ReSanté-Vous. Through the project - "Les Eclaireurs du Tour" - senior citizens have helped raise funds for the Institut Pasteur de Paris by riding miles on stationary bikes during the stages. "It's a project that aims to bring together elderly people, care professionals and families around a cycling practice that's beneficial for everyone," says Guy Le Charpentier, co-director of ReSanté-Vous.
