Description
Colombia’s special peace tribunal (JEP), which is investigating atrocities committed during the country’s decades-long conflict, charges a former military chief with war crimes and crimes against humanity over the alleged killing and forced disappearance of 130 people linked to guerrilla activities.
The alleged murders form part of what is known as "false positives," where Colombia’s military killed civilians and then presented them as guerrilla fighters to try to inflate the effectiveness of their fight against rebels. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
