Description
Anne L'Huillier, one of the new Nobel Physics laureates, says in a call to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences that she is "so happy", shortly after her win is announced. "As you know there are not so many women that get this prize so it's very very special," she says. Academy member Joseph Nordgren explains that L'Huillier and fellow laureates Pierre Agostini and Ferenc Krausz have "developed methods to measure very, very short times", enabling the study of how electrons move.
