Joe Neff Oklahoma raymond larry nichols Nichols was sentenced to life in prison without parole on July 10. Nichols, who maintained his innocence throughout his trial, was convicted of killing Donald “Joe” Neff, 61, on May 14, 2009, at Neff’s bar outside Poteau. Neff was shot once in the back of the head. Nichols was arrested in August 2013.
