Description
Kew Gardens in southwest London presents the eleventh edition of Christmas at Kew, its popular festive light show featuring 22 artistic installations in a nocturnal tour of the botanic gardens, on display until January 7. This year's show focuses on environmental protection, and all the lighting structures, including an impressive giant beehive, are inspired by the natural world. Daire Basra, head of Kew's event operations, says two of the installations are specifically about sustainability, which she hopes will inspire people "to do one small thing in their own lives to help nature". She adds that the show itself is using 40 percent less power than in previous years. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
