Description
Protesters and riot police are seen outside a court in the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare, as judges found a leading opposition politician, Job Sikhala, guilty of inciting violence. The authorities accused the Sikhala and an opposition MP, Godfrey Sithole, of inciting members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), the main opposition party, to avenge the death of an activist, Moreblessing Ali, whose mutilated body was found in a well in May 2022. Sikhala's lawyer plans to appeal and Sikhala himself expresses a note of confidence to supporters. "I feel more strengthened and determined to take the challenge to the end, so don’t be worried," Sikhala says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
