In an interview with AFP, Fanmi Lavalas party representative Leslie Voltaire says he hopes Haiti's transitional presidential council would "settle into" the presidential palace this week. "The problem with time is that we spent two and a half years with Ariel Henry who did nothing, and now in two weeks we want to do a lot of things (...) And I think that today it ends and today is Tuesday, I think that by Thursday the decree will be ready and we'll be able to move into the Palace," says Voltaire. The Transitional Presidential Council was announced on March 11, following meetings between Haitian representatives and those of several countries and organizations, including the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Mr. Voltaire asserts, however, that before the Transitional Presidential Council is installed, "the forces of law and order must resolve the problem of insecurity," one day after a new attack on the Presidential Palace.
