Description
The security situation in Africa’s Sahel region is getting worse and accessing parts of the region, including Mali, to document crimes or collect testimonies is becoming more difficult, global human rights NGO Amnesty International says. "Unfortunately, the situation in the Sahel has not improved at all. On the contrary, it is getting worse, on several fronts," Samira Daoud, Director of the NGO's Regional Office for West and Central Africa, tells a press conference in Senegal's capital Dakar, as Amnesty releases its annual "State of the World's Human Rights" report.
