Alexander Mutiso Munyao, competing in his first London Marathon, won the event in a time of two hours, four minutes, one second, ahead of veteran Kenenisa Bekele and Britain's Emile Cairess. The Kenyan says he is full of confidence now after his victory and as he prepares to run in the Paris Olympics, should he make the Kenyan team. Bekele meanwhile says he was disappointed to finish second again, but was thankful to his fans for their support, while Cairess admits it was difficult to believe he was third as he closed in on the finish line.
