Description
A new exhibition in London explores the evolution of birds as living dinosaurs, from their emergence 150 million years ago, through their survival of an asteroid strike that wiped out 70 percent of all life millions of years ago, and to the 11,000 plus species today. "We look at how evidence is now conclusive that birds are a type of dinosaur," says Sophie Davis, Natural History Museum exhibition developer, adding: "it's looking at birds as survivors, the amazing adaptations that they have that have made them one of the most successful animal groups on the planet." The exhibition 'Birds: Brilliant and Bizarre' runs until January 2025. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
