South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) party says it has reached out to rivals to form a "government of national unity", after failing to win an outright majority in last week's general election. "We have been meeting with all parties that are keen to contribute ideas on how we can collectively move our country forward to form a government that ensures national unity and stability," ANC spokeswoman Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri tells a press conference in Johannesburg.
