Speaking after the presentation of a report accusing Israel of crimes against humanity and Hamas of war crimes, Pillay says the commission's "safeguarding of evidence has been hampered". The panel also heard from the mother of a hostage still held in Gaza, with commissioner Chris Sidoti saying "that was the first time we've had an opportunity to talk and hear directly face-to-face from one of the family members of hostages" as a result of "obstruction coming from the State of Israel."
