Description
Campaigners highlighting violence against women pour red paint across Rome's famous Spanish Steps, saying it represents the blood of victims. This comes after a call to action made by the sister of Giulia Cecchettin, a university student killed by her ex-boyfriend last year in a case that sparked nationwide grief and anger. Six activists from the Italian group "Bruciamo Tutto", or "Burn Everything", are led away by police following the protest. The group said it used children's -therefore washable- paint. IMAGES
