Description
600 looted artworks are exhibited in Rome after having been repatriated from the United States to Italy thanks to a joint effort by the countries' authorities. These cultural treasures are worth around 60 million euros and are on display at the Central Institute for Restoration in Rome. Many of the artworks have been altered, and restoration work is due to begin soon. "The seized objects intended for trafficking or sale have certainly undergone interventions that we cannot consider as proper restorations," says restoration laboratory manager Stefano Ferrari.
