Description
With offerings of beer bottles and cigarettes, the faithful in Rio's bohemian neighbourhood of Lapa pay respect to Ze Pilintra, one of the most important entities in Afro-Brazilian religions, especially Umbanda. He is known for being a "malandro", a typical well-dressed Rio "bad boy" who uses his cunning to his advantage with minimal efforts. It is the second year that the Day of Ze Pilintra is officially recognized by the Rio City Council. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
