Description
The dramatic beauty of Norway's winding fjords can quickly spiral into a death trap. Geologists soon expect a landslide from the nearby Åkerneset mountain to trigger a tsunami in the fjord, with the potential of submerging towns. Numerous alert systems are in place for when this day arrives. "It can happen in two, three years," says section leader for the Norwegian Water Resources Lars Harald Blinkra. "Or it can happen in 50 years. We don't know." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES N°364R8KZ
