Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson names former migration minister Maria Malmer Stenergard the country's new foreign minister a week after her predecessor's surprise resignation. Stenergard, who has previously worked as a debt collector, is a member of Kristersson's conservative Moderates. "Support for Ukraine will remain the most important foreign policy task for years to come," Stenergard says in Stockholm, adding, "We must keep up the pressure on sanctions against Russia while working to ensure that Ukraine takes further steps towards EU membership".
