Description
The carpet of reeds by the shore of Little Prespa Lake is deceptively beautiful, its presence a sign that the lake -- on the Albanian-Greek border -- is slowly dying. Once crystal clear, Little Prespa Lake used to be a rich fishing ground, but is now a marshy watering hole. "There's nothing left," says Enver Llomi, a resident of the nearby Albanian village of Buzeliquen. The lake's water levels have dropped dramatically as the result of incrasingly long periods of heat.
