Description
Embracing his wife and daughter in front of an evacuation bus, Yury Kozynets is among hundreds of men sending their families away from the under-fire Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk. The 31-year-old, facing a dilemma shared by many workers near the front line, can't afford to leave his job at the town's mine. Kozynets is staying behind to continue producing the coal needed by his country's economy and war effort. "Children are my life," he says after the bus has left, "at every opportunity I'll try to go...to meet them." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
