Irish authorities announce binding rules to protect EU users of video-sharing platforms from harmful content, promising to hold companies to account and rein in the "Wild West" of self-regulation. Speaking in Dublin, Ireland's Online Safery Commissioner, Niamh Hodnett, says the Online Safety Code "marks an end to the era of social media self-regulation".
