Dozens of workers begin pulling and checking the validity of early voting ballots in Maricopa County, Phoenix, one of the counties that had come under fire from Donald Trump supporters in 2020, in the key state of Arizona.
Employees check that a ballot has been properly signed, and that it is neither damaged nor illegible, which helps prepare for the ballot counting on November 5.
"In Maricopa County, there's about a third of Republicans, a third of Democrats and a third of independent or no-party voters. So that tends to create very tight races for us," Maricopa County election center spokesperson Jennifer Liewer says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
