Description
A Roman gold coin bearing the image of Brutus, the assassin of Julius Caesar, will go to auction in Geneva on Monday December 9 with bids set to start above $850,000. "We're talking about a gold coin that was minted over 2,000 years ago,’" says Frank Baldacci, director of Numismatica Genevensis (NGSA), the auction house behind the sale. "We're really looking at the very best in terms of its historical importance, its character and its pedigree. So it's a coin that could set new records," he says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
