Description
The Vatican has officially inaugurated its Christmas tree and Nativity scene at St. Peter's Square. This year's 29-metre red fir arrived from Ledro in Trentino-Alto Adige and is adorned with handcrafted ornaments from the local community. The Nativity scene, donated by the community of Grado in the Archdiocese of Gorizia, is inspired by the traditions of the area. The ceremony was led by Cardinal Fernando Vérgez Alzaga and Sister Raffaella Petrini. IMAGES
