Description
In small numbers, the first voters turn up at polling stations in N'Djamena to vote in the legislative, provincial and local elections. It's presented by the government as the last stage in the political transition after three years of military rule. The opposition has urged the vote to be boycotted, which leaves it open to candidates aligned with Marshal Mahmat Idriss Itno, who was brought to power by the military in 2021. IMAGES
