With the Museum of Modern Art in Paris preparing to close its doors for five years as part of renovation work on the Pompidou Centre, a few hundred amateur copyists are reproducing the works in the museum's aisles with the aim of copying the entire collection in three days: a kind of "farewell ritual" and "a way of taking a little piece of the Centre Pompidou with them", says the intitiative's director Simon Bauchet.
