Description
First Lady Melania Trump has announced details for this year's 147th Easter Egg Roll that will take place at the White House on April 21.
The tradition dates back to 1878, when Rutherford B. Hayes was president, and has been a popular spring event for generations.
In recent decades, the Easter Egg Roll has expanded to include reading events, games, and musical entertainment.
The Trump’s participated in past easter egg rolls during their first term, blowing the whistles to start the games and talking with children who attended.
The event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID-19, but made a comeback the following year.
Tickets are free, but go through an online lottery that opens on March 24.
