Several state and national leaders are expected to survey cleanup efforts and meet with residents in the community on Monday. The visit marks two years since a major train derailment in the Village of East Palestine, where 50 cars transporting hazardous materials derailed.
Vance will join Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Ohio U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, U.S. Sen. Jon Husted, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin at the site.
Vance frequented East Palestine as a senator since the derailment two years ago. This is his first public visit to the village as vice president.
