October 10, 1958 When it comes to school spirit, here's where you'll find it... at Grossmont High. Their team played Yuma High School in the Arizona city... students were told they could attend. The fare was about four dollars. One-thousand and two students bought tickets! The big turnout took school officials by surprise, but they went to work and chartered two dozen buses and at 1:30 this afternoon and the kids rumbled off to Yuma. They covered the last half mile by foot... the buses couldn’t cross the state line, and there will be plenty of lights burning at four o'clock tomorrow morning…that's when they return.
