January 22, 1971 Torrey Pines Golf Course sold its two-millionth ticket to a vacationing Iowan this morning. Hubert Shipley, of Davenport, was the surprised customer who bought the ticket and received the award from the city of San Diego and sponsors of the Andy Williams golf tournament. On hand for this morning's presentation was councilman Sam Loftin, who presented Shipley with a plaque recognizing him as the two millionth customer. The visiting Midwesterner also received free passes to the tournament and free dinners. The Andy Williams San Diego Open Pro-Am Golf Tournament begins Monday January 25th.
