Description
July 18, 1957 Plenty busy these days at Del Mar, getting set for the opening of the racing season next Wednesday. One innovation, a new plastic rail, the first of its kind, designed for safety reasons. The track is being worked on a round-the-clock basis so the ground will be just right for the thoroughbreds come opening day.
Newest addition to track equipment is this king-sized water truck, purchased from a local dealer at a cost of 25-thousand dollars. It holds two-thousand gallons of water and covers a wide area of the track.
