August 7, 1958 Over 300 boxing fans were on hand today at the Oceanside Community Center to watch World Heavyweight Champ Floyd Patterson workout for his title fight against challenger Koy Harris, which is little more than a week away. Patterson had the benefit of two sparring partners in the form of Jose Torres of Puerto Rico and heavyweight Dusty Roades of Hampton, Virginia. Patterson, who is shown wearing the white striped trunks, has boxed over 50 rounds since coming to Oceanside to prepare for the big fight. After concluding his ring work, Patterson worked out on the heavy bag, speed bag, rope skipping, shadow boxing, and calisthenics.
