This old roller coaster, for many years a landmark at Belmont Park at Mission Beach, soon will have a companion coaster. Here, workmen are raising the framework of the new amusement that’s being built at a cost of 65-thousand dollars. It’ll be only junior sized when finished—thirty-three feet high. It’ll reach 35 miles an hour, compared with 65 miles an hour on the big one. The picnic area, too, is being enlarged and improved. The old parking lot has given way to this picnic area with tables and seats for 2500 persons. Kiddieland has been brought up to date with the addition of eight new amusements. Nowadays, the kids want planes that actually lift off the ground, and tanks equipped with machine guns.
