Law enforcement agencies are doubling down efforts to keep our roads safe as many people across San Diego County celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
The 28th Annual Shamrock Festival took over the streets of Downtown Saturday, bringing out large crowds of people to celebrate, one of the many events taking place during the busy holiday weekend.
“It is so fun, it is literally my favorite holiday. It’s the best time of the year, it’s spring we love it,” said festival attendee, Linda Phonharath.
“How lucky can you be to be in the middle of San Diego, just with a million people enjoying the music, drinking," added Jacqui Bergman.
With the large crowds, San Diego Police and the Sheriff’s Office anticipate a higher volume of traffic downtown and in surrounding communities. The holiday weekend is leading them to ramp up enforcement.
