Description
Rain showers will increase in intensity on Monday night as a slow-moving atmospheric river continues to move south toward San Diego County. Expect widespread moderate to heavy rain to continue, especially closer to the coast and favoring heavier accumulations in North County with 2.5 to 3 inches of accumulations expected through Tuesday.
By Monday afternoon, showers had started across the county, with heavier bands expected as the day progresses.
Gusty southerly winds kicked up across San Diego Sunday night as a strong area of low pressure set aim on Southern California, linked with a strong atmospheric river. The atmospheric river will supply the low pressure with unlimited amounts of saturated air. The heaviest rain accumulations expected on Monday night and Tuesday.
