Sponsored by: Arbor Day Foundation: A new consumer survey finds that Americans are more likely to throw their support and their money behind companies that are engaged in climate action, including tree planting and large-scale reforestation projects.
Dan Lambe, CEO of the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation, joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share the insights from this survey and what they reveal the link between consumer loyalty and environmental responsibility.
The Harris Poll, conducted by the Arbor Day Foundation, shows that 7 of 10 consumers will spend money with companies committed to sustainability practices.
“We learned that indeed consumers are not only paying attention. It is helping to guide their buying decisions,” said Lambe.
Lambe says the results of the survey revealed that consumers have tremendous influence in driving how businesses act.
“Through their buying power, they can influence and encourage those companies to step up their practices to help to do more to protect the environment and to protect the people and the planet today,” said Lambe.
The Arbor Day Foundation is the largest nonprofit in the world dedicated to planting trees. The nonprofit works with hundreds of corporate partners to help reach their sustainability goals by helping to plant trees.
Trees play a pivotal role in purifying air and water, fostering wildlife habitats and creating healthier and more resilient cities.
