San Diego Black LGBTQ Coalition was founded in 2015 to strengthen the Black LGBTQ community in San Diego. By 2017, the Coalition, as it was called, had laid a robust foundation, but had grown beyond the operating capacity that its original structure could sustain. In December of 2018, The San Diego Black LGBTQ Coalition adopted new bylaws that established the Coalition Council, a board of elected leaders from its active membership and created a more flexible membership structure that allows our community to contribute to the coalition in more diverse ways.
